WHY WE NEED YOU

Public tours of Roker Pier & Lighthouse are run by the Roker Heritage Group, a voluntary organisation. All proceeds from the operation of tours and special events are used solely for the maintenance and upkeep of the tunnel and lighthouse.

We have a small but dedicated team of volunteers who help research the history of the Pier & Lighthouse, lead regular tours and organise special events. Our aim is to increase and widen the access and enjoyment of Roker Pier & Lighthouse, its surroundings and its rich heritage.
